Role Summary:

E&P is seeking a Subsurface Domain Testing specialist, predominantly in the Geology and Geophysics (G&G) domain, to join its Upstream Team.
Being part of our client’s Geology and Geophysics digital delivery team, you will be responsible for the healthy running of their G&G toolkit with a specific focus on the testing of commercial of the shelf (COTS) market solutions to facilitate efficient deployments


Responsibilities:
  • Elicit requirements for new software/functionality/pipeline at all stakeholder levels via 1-to-1 interaction or requirements workshops.
  • Support the new software trial process and the entire project lifecycle, including global delivery and OperationSupportort.
  • Contribute to deploying G&G-specific digital tools in the client’s Windows and Linux, on-prem, and cloud environments. Work with vendors and partners providing market solutions to optimise the usage and value delivered from these digital tools.
  • Test applications when a new version or operating system is available.
  • Update and improve the test procedures when needed.
  • Work with users, relevant support teams, or vendors to troubleshoot software issues.
  • Work as part of evolving multidisciplinary teams, including Software Engineers, Enterprise Technology Engineers, Designers, DevSecOps, and Product owners, to deliver value by applying specialist skills.
  • Providing insight and experience in your domain specialism helps shape forward roadmaps, upcoming features, and opportunities to unlock future capabilities.
  • Ensure operational integrity of your managed applications, assuring operational compliance with architectural and security standards and compliance and policy controls defined by the client’s digital Strategy.

Requirements:
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Experience using Windows operating system (perform basic tasks such as transferring data, copying data, creating/editing/running executable files/scripts, etc.)
  • I have hands-on experience with the most common commercial G&G software (Petrel, Paleoscan, Aspentech, Bluware, etc.) and the subsurface workflows these tooSupportort.
  • Experience in writing testing requirements and testing software against existing and new software requirements.
  • Working with stakeholders to ensure software testing meets the needs of the business.
  • Advanced experience in test case management, tracking in tools like Azure DevOps (ADO), and maintaining and ensuring transparency and ownership.
  • Working with a hybrid team of delivery resources (internal & external) across geographies utilising scrum methodology where relevant.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to think beyond business as usual.
  • Demonstratable continuous improvement mindset.
  • You must possess the skills and resourcefulness to troubleshoot challenges when they arise.
  • You should be comfortable utilising and navigating MS Azure to access resources and support testing activities.

Desirable Skills:
  • Familiarity with test automation software, e.g. Ranorex Studio
  • Experience of data management support and best practice within the subsurface domain
  • Exhibit familiarity with scripting,g e.g., PowerShell
