Summary:
The client is advancing the development of Abu Dhabi’s unconventional resources. To support this strategic initiative, the Subsurface and Technology Expert will oversee the evaluation and advancement of technology processes within the Research Center of Excellence. This role involves crafting and reviewing technology roadmaps, maturation plans, and quality processes. Additionally, the expert will map guidelines and best practices across key disciplines, including geology, geophysics, reservoir engineering, petroleum engineering, and digital technologies. Furthermore, this role emphasizes coaching UAE nationals and fostering knowledge transfer within the team.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine technology roadmaps and maturation plans for subsurface disciplines.
- Evaluate and advance quality processes to ensure excellence in subsurface and digital workflows.
- Map and standardize guidelines and best practices across geology, geophysics, reservoir engineering, and
- petroleum engineering domains.
- Oversee the integration of digital technologies into traditional subsurface workflows.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify and address technical challenges, fostering cross-disciplinary innovation.
- Conduct reviews of current reservoir management and field development plans to optimize value creation.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards in all activities.
- Provide day-to-day coaching in subsurface and petroleum engineering to UAE national engineers.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer to team members and the broader community of practices.
- Contribute to updating the client’s engineering practices and guidelines based on project learnings and
- advancements in technology.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geoscience, or a related discipline (Master’s or PhD preferred).
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in Petroleum Geoscience and Digital Technologies.
- Proven expertise in developing technology roadmaps and implementing quality processes for subsurface workflows.
- Strong geology, geophysics, reservoir engineering, and petroleum engineering knowledge.
- Advanced proficiency in digital tools and technologies relevant to the subsurface domain.
- Familiarity with global industry standards and best practices in subsurface engineering.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, focusing on developing local talent.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to drive team alignment and stakeholder engagement.
