Summary:
The client is strategically targeting the development of Abu Dhabi’s unconventional resources. The client requires multidisciplinary consulting services to accelerate the derisking, development, and monetization of these resources. This position aligns with the consolidated Scope of Work (SoW), designed to source expertise in production engineering, completion design, geology, reservoir engineering, and other subsurface disciplines. The Petroleum Engineering Senior Specialist will be pivotal in supporting the client’s strategic projects, with a focus on fostering innovative solutions tailored for unconventional resource development.
The Petroleum Engineering Senior Specialist will review and lead petroleum and production engineering practices, focusing on production technology deployments, smart well completions, well stimulations, artificial lift, waterflood excellence, and production system optimization. The consultant must possess deep expertise in unconventional resources and demonstrate the ability to integrate cross-disciplinary knowledge, such as geoscience for subsurface mapping, reservoir engineering for fluid behavior analysis, and production engineering for optimal good performance, to address complex challenges like fracture network optimization, resource recovery enhancement, and unconventional field development strategies.
Responsibilities:- Review and steward petroleum and production engineering practices in alignment with the client’s guidelines and objectives.
- Identify and oversee production technology deployments to enhance field efficiency and resource recovery.
- Provide expert guidance on smart, well completions, advanced well-stimulation techniques, and artificial lift systems.
- Lead waterflood excellence initiatives and ensure production system optimization.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, integrating geoscience, reservoir engineering, and production data to enhance decision-making.
- Identify subsurface risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Update and standardize the client’s petroleum engineering guidelines and best practices.
- Support production surveillance initiatives and provide technical recommendations for improvement.
- Foster a culture of innovation by exploring and implementing new technologies and methodologies.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental protection standards.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations, ensuring alignment with project timelines
Requirements:- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline (PhD or Master’s preferred).
- More than 10 years of experience in petroleum and production engineering, with significant exposure to unconventional resources.
- Demonstrated expertise in production technology, artificial lift systems, waterflooding, and advanced stimulation techniques
- Proven ability to integrate knowledge across subsurface disciplines, fostering a multidisciplinary approach.
- Advanced proficiency in reservoir engineering software tools such as ECLIPSE, T-Nav, Petrel RE, IMEX, CMG, STARS, CMOST, PIPESIM, PROSPER, OFM, Avocet IAM, MBAL, Saphir, Topaze – Basic.
- Up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
