Summary:
The requirement is for a domain Business Analyst to work within the Wells Digitization Portfolio for our client, an Integrated Energy Major. The Business Analyst collaborates with the Product Owner, ensuring realistic delivery expectations and product changes are communicated on time.
Responsibilities:
Elicit and analyze requirements:
Gather and document detailed business requirements from well-engineering stakeholders through interviews, workshops, and surveys.
Translate these needs into clear, concise, and comprehensive user stories and functional specifications.
Wells Workflows – Creation, Optimization, and Governance
Develop, refine, and oversee the governance of well-engineering workflows to align with industry standards and enhance operational efficiency.
Establish, document, and monitor workflows, ensuring best practices are followed in well engineering processes, including drilling, completions, and interventions.
Communication & Awareness:
Co-ordinate activities for backlog development/refinement and execution with Product Owner
and development squad(s)
Work closely with software developers, testers, and project managers to ensure the software meets the defined requirements and user needs.
Effectively communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Deployment & Scope Management:
Supporting the Product Manager in delivering their Product aspirations/goal in a timely and efficient manner
Demonstrating continuous improvement of the team and its members and highlighting where strengthening and change are required.
Focusing on working within the team to ensure flow is improved and lead times reduced at every stage of the development process
Adoption & User Transition:
Develop user manuals, training materials, and other documentation to support the software implementation and adoption
Conduct surveys, interviews, and focus groups with well-engineers to understand their needs, pain points, and expectations for the software.
Track key metrics like software usage, feature adoption, and user satisfaction to identify improvement areas and measure the adoption process's success.
Sustainability & Platform Management:
Support the development and execution of product release plans
Actively work with the development squad and product owner to bridge gaps and address potential bottlenecks and risks
Required Skills:
Previous experience as a Business Analyst (BA) / Product Owner or Scrum Master with knowledge of project management techniques and tools
Understanding of Well engineering processes and/or Well Engineering software (Drilling, Completions, or Well Interventions)
Familiarity with agility
Experience working within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or equivalent
Experience working with Azure DevOps (ADO) or equivalent
Hands-on experience working within software product life cycles
Team spirit and good communication abilities
Good organizational skills
Desirable Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Wells domain experience with oil & gas super major
SAFe certification
Experience with data analysis and modeling tools.
Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
