Summary:
The client is advancing the development Abu Dhabi’s unconventional resources. To support this strategic initiative, the Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Cognitive Specialist will play a pivotal role in integrating cutting-edge AI, Machine Learning (ML), Deep Neural Networks (DNNs), and cognitive technologies into upstream oil and gas operations. This position focuses on enhancing decision-making processes, operational efficiency, and fostering innovation to meet the client’s ambitious objectives. The role also emphasizes skill transfer and knowledge sharing with UAE national engineers to develop local talent and capabilities.
The Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Cognitive Specialist will lead initiatives to develop and adopt AI-driven, ML-based, and DNN-powered solutions in upstream operations. This includes implementing predictive analytics, optimizing reservoir performance, and integrating machine learning models and deep neural networks to enhance operational decision-making. The role requires strong technical expertise in AI technologies, a deep understanding of upstream oil and gas operations, and a commitment to innovation and knowledge sharing.
Responsibilities: - Design and implement AI-driven solutions to optimize upstream oil and gas operations.
- Develop and deploy machine learning models for predictive analytics and real-time decision-making.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify areas where AI and cognitive technologies can add value.
- Enhance reservoir performance analysis and management through advanced cognitive tools.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging AI technologies for adoption in the client’s operations.
- Provide day-to-day coaching and mentoring to UAE national engineers, focusing on AI and advanced cognitive skills.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer to team members and the broader community of practices.
- Ensure alignment with the client’s strategic goals, including optimizing risk management, production surveillance, and optimizing the field development plan.
- Develop and deliver training programs to upskill team members in AI and cognitive technologies.
- Adhere to the highest health, safety, and data protection standards in all activities.

Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Petroleum Engineering, or a related discipline
- (Master’s or PhD preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in applying AI and machine learning in upstream oil and gas operations.
- Proven expertise in developing and deploying AI models and cognitive tools for reservoir management and production optimization.
- Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages, with experience in AI/ML frameworks such as
- TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn, with expertise in developing and training Deep Neural Networks (DNNs).
- Familiarity with upstream oil and gas operations, including reservoir engineering and production technologies.
- Advanced knowledge of data visualization tools and platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau
